Copper and brass radiator pricing tracks COMEX Copper; aluminum radiators follow LME Aluminum. Contamination from plastic tanks, iron brackets, and solder affects the per-pound rate. Identifying your material correctly before selling is the single most effective step to maximize your payout.

📊 What determines the value of scrap radiators:

  • Pure copper radiators (heating): All-copper home heating radiators — the top grade. Priced near COMEX Copper.
  • Copper & brass radiators (clean): Auto AC and heater core radiators with brass end tanks — excellent grade. Remove plastic before selling.
  • Aluminum radiators (clean): Modern all-aluminum auto radiators — priced at LME Aluminum, not copper.
  • Aluminum Copper Radiators (ACR): Mixed metal radiators with aluminum fins and copper tubes — priced between full copper and full aluminum rates.
  • Irony/dirty radiators: Radiators with steel brackets, iron parts, or heavy corrosion — heavily discounted.
💡 Tip: Remove plastic end tanks from auto radiators before selling — the remaining copper/brass core is worth more per pound.
